SAI conducts awareness campaigns regarding the importance and need of school education among parents of nearby villages of Sundarban at the beginning of every academic year and as and when needed. Education is the backbone of our society & it can reduce many problems.

 Employment opportunities are very limited in Sundarban. And this brings the people into much financial stress. As a result a substantial proportion of children are being deprived of opportunities of education. Cyclones like Aila, Phani, Bulbul and Yas every year causes saline water to flood the farm lands and the fish ponds destroying crops.
Young men are therefore moving to other states in search of jobs. Young women are married off below 18 years of age and they have to move to cities in search of work as domestic help.
In the midst of all this trafficking  of women to cities is not unheard of.
In these circumstances SAI, reaches out to various backward and tribal villages and run awareness campaigns regarding the need of a minimum level of education to make parents conscious in the matter.
Along with this, SAI is also making effort to make them conscious of the consequences of child marriage and child labour. SAI assures parents to take responsibility of their children's education upto standard 12. This will help reduce the financial burden on the parents to some extent.
